Pearl Recovery Retreat and Wellness: Kids Helping Kids
From artists programs to dance, music, and drama programs, this hospital truly makes your child feel comfortable.
Hello, my name is Sandra Koretz. I am ten years old, and very happy and healthy. But some kids aren’t like me. They don’t have loving parents, don’t have happiness filling their day with sunshine, and aren’t in good health. But there’s always a fix to problems. In our case the solution is Children’s Hospital L.A.
“Founded in 1901, CHLA is the first and largest pediatric hospital in Southern California.” Children’s Hospital L.A. is the only freestanding Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center in Los Angeles. It is one of thirteen children’s hospitals to be classified a “Top Hospital” for 2013 by The Leapfrog Group. CHLA is the most “recognized and favored hospital in Los Angeles County among families with children. The hospital was also granted the “Beacon Award for Excellence in Pediatric Intensive Care Unites” from the American Association of Critical Care Nursing. “This hospital is truly amazing,” Mark Taper – Johnny Mercer.
You know, such a great hospital should keep on running for generations on end, so that’s why I am raising $6,000 and art supplies for the new art program. I’m doing this because in fourth grade we had guests from Children’s Hospital L.A. come and speak to us about their new therapy programs. After that each student in fourth grade made a bright and cheery placemat for a young patient at the hospital. We also raised art supplies for the new art therapy program. The actions of the fourth grade class inspired me to do something for my community.
